Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful comments about my new website! You are too kind. Apologies on my lack of replies, I have been frightfully busy this week. Yesterday alone I pencilled nine pages of BSC4. Nine pages. That's a personal record, and one I wouldn't recommend you ever try yourself. Soggy hand syndrome is in full effect, although I plan to get through at least 4 more pages today.
This weekend I'll be at SPX, and you should come find me at tables G15-G16 where myself and the rest of the Comics Bakery will be set up. I'm especially excited by the fact that Dave and John have another new issue of Teen Boat, and Dave will have a shiny new issue of Astronaut Elementary. Depending on when the last time you saw me was, I may or may not have new stuff. All 3 BSC graphic novels, check. Little paintings, check. Earthquake Weather minis, check...
I am speaking on one panel on Sunday at 11AM: Working with Mainstream Publishers
I'll be joined by Nick Abadzis and Ed Piskor. Should be good!
I'll be there as a visitor, you got my phonezor!
Good luck on the panel! You should bring an MP3 player and record it. Then you can upload the mp3 to your website for people like me who can't go to SPX to download. ;)
I have an iPod. They can record?!
you can buy an mp3 recorder that attaches to the ipod. I saw them at virgin megastore!
Marion has a brand new digital voice recorder, we can bring that for you.
Check and see. I have an old Dell Jukebox, and it has a little microphone button on the side. If I press it, it acts as a recorder. Now, it's not always the best quality, but I used it to record a local town hall meeting, then just dumped the MP3 onto my desktop as soon as I got home, bumped the levels a little, and toned down the background noise. It just took a few minutes (freebie programs, yay!) and, while far from a professional quality recording, it was definitely very listen-able-to. :) I started using the record feature a lot after that.
I definitely need to get 2 & 3 of BSC from you, so I'm so glad you're bringing them!
I'll be somewhere in a big block of NC cartoonists tables - Section D, Tables 1 - 8. I'm sure I'll see you - Will and I can't fit in our half table together so we'll have to switch.
I don't have too many copies of the books this time, so find me sooner rather than later! :D
That sounds like an interesting panel. I'll be down at the show on Sat. and Sun., so I will drop by and say hello.
You would be a good addition to that panel, I bet!
Little paintings! Yay! I was hoping you'd have some! (No previews this time, so I can't call dibs on any in particular? Sad! but I'm sure you'll have something--several somethings, probably--that I'll want.)
Are you guys coming to the show?! :D
Definitely! Alexander will be over in A6-7 with the Boston Comics Roundtable group, and I'll be milling around looking like I have a purpose. :)
Ooh, please tell Nick I say hi! :)
I am full of admiration at your nine page day...I think my limit is six!
Have a great time at SPX...
