I'm looking forward to the change in scenery. As great as the Puck Building is, MoCCA definitely outgrew it.

I will miss our spot right under the A/C and by the windows in the A room, though!

I know that people who registered at last year's Fest are being charged this week; I imagine registration for everyone else opens up soon?

Stay alert, check daily. Maybe even email them anyway. Historically speaking, the website hasn't always been up to date, and registration fills up fast.

If you can't get in, though, I'm SURE that you'll be able to squeeze in on a table with someone else, including me, Zack, and Stephanie Yue :)

Good point - that place is great. And, don't forget about that park. That'll be nicer to go and mill around in if there's a fire-alarm again this year - as opposed to last year where we huddled inside that gross Subway Sandwiches across the street, because it was way too hot on the sidewalk.

I love Madison Square Park. Many quality hours spent there during college. The selection (as in, varied price ranges) of restaurants in the neighborhood is also really good, IMO. Soho always made me feel too poor, and there were so few places you could really go with a large group.

Nice, I can't even find table info, let alone that they moved locations! Darn you, Mocca. Is that the armory on Lex?

The info's all coming from emails from the new director, and it's only gone out to museum members or people who already signed up for a table. Don't worry, though--the new space is supposed to be huge (yup, it's that armory), so getting a table when they open up reg shouldn't be a problem.

Hmmm...sounds like you're not the only one. If you want the director's email address I can give it to you; email me at goraina AT yahoo dot etc.

I suppose that goes for anyone else reading this, too! :)

Yeah Raina! You would have to come along... with the defibrillator paddles...

But ok, if I do go to MOCCA, which I hadn't planned... Kean and I will do "Burger Safari 2: East Coast Cruisin' for a Bruisin'", and Raina, you will be the witness/911 emergency contact...

Dude, the ONLY thing I remember most from that first safari is the pain.

Well, that and the peach pie from Pie'n'Burger. What a most incredible peach pie that was. (it has single-handedly ruined all peach pies for me ever since)

This reminds me, I should get round to posting those safari photos, just so everyone can share my pain.

After this year's trip, I learned that Lombardi's is only a couple of blocks away from Spring Street Natural! I have been meaning to pay them a visit for a while now, so I might take a small rogue group there next year if a Spring Street Natural dinner is once again in the works. :)

Woah! My world is rocked.
I haven't gotten an email about this... which makes me nerrrvous, as I already paid in cash for my table at last year's. Oh well. I hope we'll all be on the same floor this year!
Can we do another ladies' brunch? That was so fun.

Yes we can! I'll be in touch roundabout May.

If you paid in cash it might not be an issue--the contact was made to give us the heads-up about charging our credit cards. At least, in my case.

Email me if you'd like the new director's contact info. Maybe you should get in touch, just to confirm. Cash is scary! :/

Lamarca is AWESOME. I remember being way too poor to eat there during school, but the richer students would bring pasta to eat during class and it made me want to die.

I've only been there like 2x. Even though I can technically afford to eat there now, I don't get over to the neighborhood as often as I'd like--and they have really conservative operating hours!

I am psyched about this because I live about two blocks away from the new place...no need to set the alarm! Also there are lots and lots of good bars, restaurants and so on in the neighborhood. I haven't been to a show IN the Armory in a loooong time, but it should be a lot bigger and a good location. I think the MoCCA spirit will be well served by the new locale, as well.

I was glad to hear about the move, and if there is still space I'm gonna do it now. It wasn't worth the risk to land on the top floor before - a fifty/fifty shot that you're tucked away where nobody goes, at least not more than once? Now it's all the awesomeness of Mocca without the potential for financial ruin!
